Senior Estimator

Required:

1.            Bachelor’s' degree in, Engineering, Construction Management OR a related field and the knowledge.

2.            Knowledge in estimating software.

3.            5+ Construction field experience and construction estimating on large projects.

4.            Work experience in Mechanical trades Division 21 Fire Suppression, Division 22 Pluming/Piping, Division 23 HVAC

 

Preferred:

Certified from ASPE, PMI, AACE. Higher education is a favorable.

 

Professional Experience:

Develop cost estimates for clients, and reviewing the progress of existing projects to ensure their completion within the parameters of the established project budget.

Interface with clients during estimate review and cost presentation.

Negotiate commercial terms for construction contracts.

Solicit sub-contractor pricing and bids for select trades in preparation of cost estimate

Provide narratives for selected portions of a project cost estimate to adequately describe scope and level of quality within an estimate.

Research selected products from a cost and constructability perspective

Conduct initial analysis of drawings and specifications, ensuring required information is provided

Ensures the credibility of the information contained in the estimate.

Preform estimates on change orders/new projects and execute contracts. 

Oversees the development and recording of the projects historical estimate information and lessons learned.

Provides means of continuous improvement of the estimating organization through benchmarking and maintaining affiliations with industry estimating/scheduling organizations and local/national chapters.

Supports the project teams and estimating personnel efforts towards the development of the project plan and translating that project plan into the project estimate.

Ensures that required project estimating and/or planning/scheduling controls are appropriately implemented and maintained.

Capability to meet critical project deadline, willingness to coordinate and work as a team member.

Supports the project teams and estimating/scheduling personnel efforts towards the development of the project plan and translating that project plan into the project estimate/schedule.

Conduct preliminary project Risk Analysis and perform general conditions analysis and pricing.

Provides expertise to develop methodologies, techniques and tools, software, standards and guidelines for estimating and/or planning/scheduling; expert knowledge in application of estimating/scheduling software and application of the software.

Lead value engineering sessions & manage the meeting process with optimal results.
