Engineers can make great project managers, just ask  Derek Vickers, Senior Account Manager, PFES

"A big thing for us, and what a lot of our customers really like, is to have project managers that have engineering backgrounds. People in an engineering, you can do a lot of different things, but I was never even approached about, or thought of project management. I heard a great quote from a customer that said, "A lot of engineers make great project managers, but not every project manager can be an engineer." I couldn't personally be a project manager, but I do see the crossover with the skill set for sure where engineers - a lot of them are very organized, task oriented, and that typically plays out well, especially in the utility space with project managers."
